I am a multimedia lettering artist with work in the permanent collection at the Newberry Library in Chicago. I design and manufacture abstract mark making tools including broom-bristle brushes and folded brass and aluminum pens.
I worked custom framing for twelve years and teach seminars in preservation methods for handling, storing and mounting art items.
I am currently the exhibit director for the Chicago Calligraphy Collective and a former director on the board of the Naperville Art League.
My studio logo is inspired by my yellow lab, the little dear.
This blog is intended as a home for presenting my calligraphic work, offer some of techniques and materials I have learned on my journey, and explore other topics such as making tools and providing information about preservation methods. I hope you will find this site to be useful.
Ask me a question about materials, methods, or anything else you see on this site.
I will try to answer all questions in a reasonable time; it’s all about logistics.
